No-Code AI Voice Agent: Build a Calling Agent by Describing the Job

A no-code AI voice agent is a phone-calling AI you set up by describing what it should do in plain language, rather than by writing code or wiring together speech, model and telephony services. On Outpero you describe the job, choose one of seven Indian languages and a voice tier, list what to capture on each call and connect a lead source or list — and the agent starts calling, with telephony and compliance already handled.

What “no-code” actually means for a voice agent

Every AI voice agent needs the same parts: a phone line, speech recognition, a language model, a voice, rules for when to call, and somewhere to put the results. On a developer platform you assemble those parts with code and API keys. On a no-code platform they are already assembled, and your job is the part only you can do — explaining the work.

That shifts the skill from engineering to briefing. The owner of a coaching centre in Kota knows exactly what a good admission call sounds like; a no-code builder lets that knowledge become the agent's instructions directly, without a developer translating it.

How to build one on Outpero, step by step

  1. 01Describe the job in plain language: who the agent is calling for, why, what it should find out, what it may and may not promise, and how the call should end.
  2. 02Choose the language — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam or Indian English — and a voice tier: Standard or Premium.
  3. 03List the custom fields to capture, such as budget, preferred date, city or reason for cancelling.
  4. 04Switch on any actions you want during the call: booking a calendar slot, reading or writing a spreadsheet, calling a custom API, or sending a WhatsApp message.
  5. 05Connect where calls come from: a lead source for instant calling, a CSV list for a bulk campaign, or your business number so the agent answers inbound calls.
  6. 06Test it on your own phone using the 50 free signup credits, read the transcripts, adjust the description, and go live.

Writing a good job description

The description is the agent. Vague instructions produce vague calls. A useful brief reads like what you would tell a new telecaller on their first morning: the business in two lines, the purpose of this call, the questions in order, the answers to the five questions callers usually ask, the things never to say, and what counts as success.

Example brief, in plain English

You are calling on behalf of GreenRoof Solar, Jaipur. The person enquired about rooftop solar on our website. Confirm they own the house, ask their average monthly electricity bill and roof type, and if the bill is over ₹2,000, book a free site survey in the calendar. Speak Hindi; use English for technical words if they do. Never quote a final price — say the surveyor will. If they are not interested, thank them and end politely.

Hear it on a real call before you read further?

Developer-first platforms such as Vapi, Retell AI and Bland AI are genuinely better when you need fine control over each component or are building voice AI into your own product. No-code wins when the goal is simply that every lead gets called this week.

Integrations without code

Lead sources such as Meta lead ads, Google Ads lead forms, website forms, landing pages and CRMs connect directly or through Zapier and Make. IndiaMART, JustDial and property-portal leads usually flow the same way. After each call, the recording, transcript, summary, sentiment and custom fields appear in the dashboard and can be sent to a webhook — for every call, completed calls only, or voicemails only — which Zapier or Make can pass on to a CRM or Google Sheet without anyone writing code.

What it costs

No setup fee, no monthly base fee, no contract. Connected talk time costs ₹5 per minute on Standard and ₹6.8 on Premium, paid from prepaid credits where one credit is ₹1 and credits never expire. A dedicated phone number is ₹649 a month including compliance and carrier fees. For one-way announcements, a voice broadcast plays a fixed message to a list at a lower rate than AI conversation minutes.

Compliance comes pre-built

Calls go out on a DLT-registered line, and bulk campaigns screen DND numbers before dialling, in line with TRAI's TCCCP 2018 regulations. You still choose who to call and why, and you remain responsible for consent and for handling personal data under the DPDP Act 2023. Lenders should brief the agent to follow RBI's guidance on recovery calls.

How to evaluate a no-code AI voice agent builder

  • —Time how long it takes a non-technical person on your team to get a working test call.
  • —Check whether changes to the brief take effect immediately, so you can fix a bad answer the same day.
  • —Confirm the agent can act during the call — book, write to a sheet, send WhatsApp — not just talk.
  • —Look at the call output and ask whether it fits your CRM without manual cleanup.
  • —Ask what still needs a developer, and whether webhooks and custom API calls are available when you outgrow the basics.

Limits of no-code

No-code does not mean no effort: a weak brief still produces weak calls, and the first week should be spent reading transcripts and tightening instructions. The agent can transfer a call to your team when a person should take it; anything else it cannot settle is flagged in the summary and webhook for a callback. And if your product is itself a voice application, you will want the control of a developer platform or your own build.

Questions people ask

What is a no-code AI voice agent?

+

It is an AI phone agent you create without programming. Instead of connecting speech recognition, a language model, a voice and telephony with code, you describe the job in plain language, choose a language and voice, and connect a lead source or list. The platform handles everything technical, including the phone line, so a business owner can have it calling the same day.

How long does it take to build an AI voice agent without code?

+

On Outpero, a first working agent can be ready the same day — the main time goes into writing a clear job description and testing it. Most teams then spend their first week reading transcripts and refining the brief. Developer platforms usually take longer because telephony, models, retries and integrations have to be built and tested by engineers.

Can a no-code voice agent integrate with my CRM?

+

Yes, without code in most cases. Leads can arrive from Meta lead ads, Google Ads lead forms, website forms and CRMs directly or through Zapier and Make. After each call, Outpero sends the recording, transcript, summary, sentiment and custom fields to your webhook, which Zapier or Make can push into your CRM or a Google Sheet automatically.

Is a no-code AI voice agent less capable than a developer platform?

+

It is less flexible at the component level — you cannot swap the underlying models or host the stack yourself. For the work most businesses need, such as calling leads, booking appointments, reminders and answering inbound calls, it is just as capable and far faster to set up. Developer platforms win when you are building a voice product or highly unusual workflows.

What does a no-code AI voice agent cost?

+

Outpero charges ₹5 or ₹6.8 per connected minute depending on voice tier, with no setup fee, no monthly base fee and no contract. Credits are prepaid at ₹1 each and never expire, and a dedicated phone number is ₹649 a month. The 50 free credits at signup are enough to build an agent and test it on real calls.

Which languages can a no-code Outpero agent speak?

+

Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English. You pick the language when you set up the agent, and it switches into English mid-sentence whenever the caller does, in the same voice. Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia and other languages are not live, so write your brief in one of the seven.
