Telecalling software is three different products
Search for telecalling software in India and the results mix products that solve different problems. A team lead who wants to see which telecaller called which lead needs one thing. A founder whose leads go cold overnight needs another. Starting with the right category saves months.
| Category | What it does | Who still makes the call | You need it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Telecalling CRM | Stores leads, assigns them to telecallers, tracks call outcomes, follow-up reminders | Your telecallers | You have a team and lack visibility on what they do |
| Dialler software | Places calls from a list, logs duration, may record | Your telecallers | Dialling time eats your team's hour |
| AI telecalling agent | Calls leads, holds the conversation, books or confirms, writes the result | The AI agent | Leads go uncalled, or the team cannot cover the hours or languages |
Many Indian teams end up with a CRM and a dialler stitched together, a spreadsheet beside them, and a team that still cannot call every lead the day it arrives. AI telecalling targets that last gap.
What each category is good at
Telecalling CRM
A CRM gives a manager control: lead assignment, status fields, follow-up dates, daily call counts per telecaller, and a record when someone leaves. It does nothing to increase the number of calls made. If your problem is accountability, a CRM is the answer.
Dialler software
A dialler raises the number of calls each person can make by removing manual dialling. If your telecallers spend a large part of the shift dialling and waiting, a dialler lifts output. It still depends on how many people you employ and how many hours and languages they cover.
AI telecalling agent
An AI agent adds capacity instead of managing it. Outpero's AI employee calls a new Meta or Google Ads lead within 30 seconds, works through an uploaded CSV with retries and callbacks, answers inbound calls on your business number around the clock, and can transfer the call to your team when a person should speak. It then logs the recording, transcript, summary, sentiment and custom fields.
How a telecalling team compares with AI telecalling
| Question | Human telecaller | AI telecalling agent |
|---|---|---|
| Calls a new lead | When free, usually within working hours | Within 30 seconds, any hour |
| Calls at once | One per person | One per channel, add channels any month |
| Languages | Whatever you can hire | Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Indian English |
| Notes quality | Depends on the person | Every call summarised and tagged |
| Handles a tough negotiation | Yes | Hands over to your team |
| Cost shape | Fixed monthly salary | Pay per connected minute |

Languages for telecalling in India
Telecalling in India is multilingual by default. A single lead list can mix Telugu, Hindi and Urdu in Hyderabad, or Marathi and Hindi in Pune, and the customers mix English in anyway. Hiring for each language is slow and uneven across shifts. Outpero covers seven live languages with the same per-minute price in each, and switches to English the moment the caller does.

What telecalling software costs, with arithmetic
A human telecaller in India costs roughly ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month, ₹18,000 being a sensible reference, and covers one shift and one call at a time. CRM and dialler licences add to that and vary by vendor, so get a written quote. Outpero has no setup fee or subscription: Standard is ₹5 per connected minute, Premium ₹6.8, and a dedicated +91 number is ₹649 a month including one channel. Prices exclude 18% GST.
| Option | Working | Monthly cost (before GST) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 telecallers, salary only | 3 x ₹18,000 | ₹54,000 |
| AI calling 600 leads, 2 minutes each | 600 x 2 x ₹5 = ₹6,000, plus ₹649 number | ₹6,649 |
| Same with 2 extra channels | ₹6,649 plus 2 x ₹649 = ₹1,298 | ₹7,947 |
| Hybrid: AI first contact, 1 telecaller closes | ₹6,649 plus ₹18,000 | ₹24,649 |
These figures assume 600 answered conversations of two minutes each, which you should adjust to your own volume. The comparison is capacity, not quality: the hybrid row shows the usual outcome, where a person stays for the calls that need one.
Compliance: TRAI, DLT and DND for any telecalling
Telecalling software does not remove the legal duty. TRAI's Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018 require commercial callers to register on DLT, and promotional calls may only reach numbers not blocked through DND unless the customer consented. TRAI has also directed operators to act against promotional calls from unregistered senders, and promotional telemarketing is expected to use 140-series numbers.
- —Ask whether bulk lists are screened against DND automatically.
- —Keep consent records for customers who enquired, since an enquiry is a different footing from a purchased list.
- —Record calls and keep the transcript, which is also your evidence if a complaint arrives.
- —Respect calling windows and opt-outs without exceptions.
How to choose telecalling software
- 01Write down your real bottleneck: visibility, dialling time, or uncalled leads.
- 02Pick the category that solves that bottleneck, not the longest feature list.
- 03Count how many leads arrive outside working hours or in languages your team lacks.
- 04Test with real calls on your own numbers before paying for a year.
- 05Check what data leaves the tool: CSV export, webhook, and a call log that shows cost per call.
AI telecalling does not replace the manager's need to see pipeline and revenue. If you already run a CRM, keep it, and use Outpero's webhook and CSV export to push call results into it. Outpero is not a CRM replacement.
