How do I measure if my AI calling is working?
Measure AI calling as a funnel: dials, pickups, completed conversations, qualified leads and booked outcomes such as visits, demos or payments. Divide your spend by each stage to get cost per qualified lead and cost per booking, and compare those with your previous process on the same lead source over the same weeks. Listening to a sample of recordings each week catches problems the numbers miss.
The funnel to track
| Stage | What it counts | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Leads called | Every lead the agent dialled | Coverage — did anyone fall through? |
| Pickups | Calls a person answered | List quality and timing |
| Completed conversations | Calls that reached the end of the script | Script quality |
| Qualified leads | Leads that met your criteria | Targeting and questions |
| Booked outcomes | Visits, demos, appointments or payments | Real business value |
Cost per outcome, worked out
Suppose a month of calling uses 900 connected minutes on the Standard voice at ₹5 a minute: ₹4,500 of talk time, plus ₹649 for a dedicated number. If that produced 60 qualified leads, the cost per qualified lead is about ₹86. These numbers are illustrative — put your own in, and use the stage that matters to you.
Compare like with like
- —Same lead source: Meta leads against Meta leads, not Meta against referrals.
- —Same period: festival months and exam months distort everything.
- —Same definition of ‘qualified’ for the AI and for your team.
- —Include speed: how many minutes from enquiry to first call, on both sides.
What the numbers miss
A good conversion rate can hide calls where the agent mispronounced a locality, or where callers sounded confused at one question. Read or listen to 15–20 calls a week, including the shortest ones, which are often where something went wrong. Sentiment tags help you find the unhappy calls quickly.
Give it enough calls
Fifty calls is an anecdote. Judge a script or a lead source after a few hundred calls, and judge the whole programme after a full month, when weekday and weekend patterns have both shown up.
The dashboard has call logs, a leads database and analytics, with CSV export. Each call carries a recording, transcript, summary, sentiment and your custom fields, and the same data goes to your webhook so your CRM can report on bookings and sales downstream.
