Exotel vs Knowlarity vs Ozonetel vs MyOperator, and Where AI Fits

Exotel, Knowlarity, Ozonetel and MyOperator are cloud-telephony and contact-centre platforms: they supply numbers, IVR, dialers and call routing for human teams, and all four now add AI voice agents on top. Knowlarity and MyOperator publish the most rupee prices, Exotel publishes dollar contact-centre plans, and Ozonetel publishes none. Outpero is not a rival telephony provider but an AI calling layer, so this post compares the four on verified facts and shows where an AI employee fits beside them.

Disclosure

Outpero publishes this post and sells an AI voice agent. Facts about other vendors come from their own websites, read on 2026-10-14, and are labelled as the vendor's claim where they are claims. The post gives criteria and a test method so you can check any vendor, Outpero included, for yourself. Outpero is not a cloud-telephony provider. It is an AI calling product, so it is described here as a layer that can sit beside any of these four, and the four are judged only on their own published pages.

The short answer

These four are not interchangeable with an AI voice agent, and they are only partly interchangeable with each other. Each sells the phone system around a human team: virtual and toll-free numbers, IVR menus, call routing, recording, dialers and a dashboard for supervisors. The difference is who each is built for, how openly it prices, and how far its AI offering has got.

As read on 2026-10-14, Knowlarity and MyOperator publish rupee prices for much of their telephony. Exotel publishes dollar plans for its contact centre and asks for a demo on AI. Ozonetel publishes no price, and its pricing page could not be reached when checked. None of the four publishes a per-minute rate for its AI voice agent.

What each one actually sells

Exotel

Exotel describes itself as an AI-led customer-experience ecosystem. Its contact-centre plans include dialers, call routing and a voice blaster, which is its name for sending one recorded message to many numbers. Its AI voice agents sit alongside human agents, and one agent can monitor several AI conversations and take over when needed.

Exotel's homepage claims 99.99% uptime and sub-300 ms voice latency. Those are the vendor's claims, not measured results. Its voicebot page says the bot is fluent in Hindi, English and Hinglish, while the AI Voice Agents page mentions regional and global language support without naming the languages.

Published contact-centre plans are XPrime at $70 and XPro at $100, with the billing unit not stated, and XTRM on request. All three route to Talk to Sales. The AI voice agent pages lead to a demo request, so there is no AI price to quote.

Knowlarity

Knowlarity sells the plumbing: toll-free numbers, virtual numbers, IVR, missed-call numbers and a cloud contact centre. It publishes the most detail of the four, including toll-free plans from Rs 21,000 to Rs 46,200 a year and contact-centre plans from INR 1,999 per agent per month. Outbound dialer pricing is on request.

Its automated outbound product is described as a recorded voice interaction, with text-to-speech and outbound IVR, rather than a two-way AI conversation. For ChatBot and VoiceBot pricing the page says to contact the company. Softphone plans state a minimum one-year contract with quarterly advance payment, which matters for a small business.

Ozonetel

Ozonetel is the most enterprise-leaning. It sells a full contact-centre suite with predictive, power, preview and progressive dialers, automated DND scrubbing for outbound calls and AI-assisted quality audits. Its Voice AI Agents page claims 12+ languages and sub-second latency, and its homepage mentions 24 vernacular languages, without listing them by name.

Pricing is not published. The pricing URL redirected to an unreachable internal address when checked, and the free-trial page is a request for a consultation. That is a sales-led model: expect a call, a scoping conversation and a quote. Ozonetel also lists broadcast voice campaigns, including a regional-language brand blast.

MyOperator

MyOperator is a cloud-telephony company that sells IVR, call routing, toll-free and virtual numbers, call recording and a WhatsApp Business API suite. Its published plans are Sedan at ₹5,000 a month and SUV at ₹15,000 a month, each for 10 users, with a custom AI Team tier for voice and chat agents. All plans are billed yearly, GST is extra and Meta's WhatsApp charges are additional.

Published add-ons include an auto-dialer from ₹700 per user per month, a 1800 toll-free number from ₹500 a month and a one-time ₹20,000 for standalone dedicated onboarding. Its voice AI agent answers in English, Hindi, Hinglish and nine other major Indian languages, which the page does not name. It also describes a context-aware human handover that shares the conversation with your team.

Read the table as a map of publicity, not of quality. A vendor that hides its price may still be the right choice for a 300-seat contact centre. For a ten-person business that wants to know the bill before a meeting, openness is a reasonable first filter. The last row is Outpero's reading of who each vendor's own pages address, not a vendor statement.

Where each one is the better choice

  • —Choose Knowlarity or MyOperator if you need virtual or toll-free numbers, IVR menus and routing for a human team, and you want published rupee prices to start from.
  • —Choose Ozonetel or Exotel if you run a large contact centre with supervisors, predictive or power dialers and quality audits, and are comfortable with a demo-led purchase.
  • —Choose MyOperator if WhatsApp Business API and call recording matter alongside the phone system, and yearly billing suits you.
  • —Choose Exotel if you want AI agents that sit beside human agents who can monitor and take over, inside one stack.
  • —Choose none of them first if your actual problem is that nobody calls leads fast enough or answers at night: that is a calling problem, not a phone-system problem.

Each of these vendors does something Outpero does not do. They run a human contact centre, offer toll-free and virtual number products, and give supervisors tools such as barging and live dashboards. If your team of callers is the product, you need that layer.

Where an AI calling layer fits

A telephony platform gives your people a phone system. An AI voice agent is the caller. Outpero is the second kind: an AI employee that calls a new enquiry within 30 seconds, answers your business number around the clock, runs a conversation with every contact on a CSV list and writes up the result with a recording, transcript and summary.

It is built for regional-language conversations. Outpero speaks Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English, and switches to English mid-sentence when the caller does. An opening line for a Hindi lead call might sound like this.

नमस्ते, मैं Sharma Dental Clinic से बोल रही हूँ। आपने कल हमारी website पर appointment के लिए enquiry की थी, क्या अभी दो मिनट बात हो सकती है?
— Hindi opening with English words mixed in. Translation: Hello, I am calling from Sharma Dental Clinic. You enquired about an appointment on our website yesterday. Can we talk for two minutes now?

Outpero does bring its own +91 business number at ₹649 a month, which includes one channel, meaning one call at a time. Extra channels are ₹649 a month each. It is not a contact-centre seat product, so a human supervisor desk or an IVR menu builder is not what you buy from it. It can transfer a call to your team when a person should take it, which is the point at which the telephony platform and the AI meet.

Pricing is per connected minute from prepaid credits that never expire: Standard ₹5 or Premium ₹6.8, excluding 18% GST, with no setup fee, no subscription and 50 free credits at signup. Unanswered calls are not billed. The rate is the same in every language.

Three ways to combine them

  1. 01Keep your telephony vendor for human callers and IVR, and use an AI agent only for new-lead calls, reminders and after-hours answering. This is the lowest-risk start and needs no change to your contact centre.
  2. 02Replace the first layer of calls with AI and transfer the interested or complex ones to your human team. The number of human seats you need then depends on how many calls reach a person, not on how many leads arrive.
  3. 03Use voice broadcast for announcements and reminders where no conversation is needed, and AI conversations where the answer changes what you do next.
A note on rates

Telephony vendors usually charge for seats, numbers or channels, while AI calling charges for connected minutes. Compare them on cost per useful conversation, not on the headline rate.

How to test any provider, including Outpero

  1. 01Write down the one job you want solved, for example calling every Meta lead within a minute or answering the shop line after 7 p.m.
  2. 02Ask for the all-in price for that job, in rupees, including numbers, channels, add-ons, GST and any minimum term.
  3. 03Ask which Indian languages are supported by name, and ask to hear a sample in the one your customers speak, with English mixed in.
  4. 04Run a two-week trial on a real list of at least 100 contacts, with a control group handled the usual way.
  5. 05Listen to 20 recordings. Note interruptions, wrong-language starts, missed hand-offs and calls ended too early.
  6. 06Check the exit: can you export call recordings and data, and what happens to your number if you leave?

The last step is the one buyers skip. A one-year contract with quarterly advance payment is workable when you are sure; it is expensive when the trial disappoints.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Exotel, Knowlarity, Ozonetel and MyOperator?

+

All four are Indian cloud-telephony platforms. Knowlarity leads with numbers, IVR and a contact centre, MyOperator with IVR, routing, recording and WhatsApp API, Exotel with a contact-centre stack and AI agents beside human ones, and Ozonetel with an enterprise suite of dialers. They differ most in pricing openness and buyer size.

Which of the four publishes pricing?

+

Knowlarity and MyOperator publish the most rupee prices, such as Knowlarity contact-centre plans from INR 1,999 per agent per month and MyOperator plans at ₹5,000 and ₹15,000 a month. Exotel lists dollar plans for its contact centre. Ozonetel published no price when checked on 2026-10-14. None publishes a per-minute AI voice rate.

Is Outpero an alternative to these providers?

+

Not directly. They provide phone systems for human teams. Outpero is an AI employee that makes and answers calls, with its own +91 number at ₹649 a month including one channel. Many businesses will use an AI calling layer alongside a telephony platform rather than instead of one.

Do these platforms offer AI voice agents?

+

Yes, each now markets AI voice agents or voice bots. Exotel names Hindi, English and Hinglish on its voicebot page, Ozonetel claims 12+ languages, MyOperator claims English, Hindi, Hinglish and nine other Indian languages, and Knowlarity describes bots in multiple languages. Prices for these AI products are not published as per-minute rates.

Which is best for a small business in India?

+

For a small team that needs numbers, IVR and call recording, MyOperator or Knowlarity are the more transparent starting points because they publish rupee prices. Check billing terms: MyOperator bills yearly and Knowlarity's softphone plans carry a one-year minimum. For calling speed and after-hours cover, add an AI agent.

Can I use an AI voice agent with my existing telephony provider?

+

Often yes, in the sense that the AI handles the calls you do not want your team to make, such as instant lead calls and reminders. Outpero runs on its own dedicated number, can transfer a call to your team, and sends results to your systems by webhook. Ask your provider about forwarding and number porting before you decide.

How can I compare cloud telephony providers fairly?

+

Define one job, ask for the all-in rupee price including add-ons, GST and minimum term, test on at least 100 real contacts, and listen to 20 recordings. Vendor claims such as 99.99% uptime or sub-second latency are claims until you measure them on your own calls.
