How do I upload a contact list for AI bulk calling?
You upload a contact list for AI bulk calling as a CSV with at least a name and phone column, plus any fields the agent should mention. In Outpero you attach it to a campaign, set the schedule, calling window and retries, and the agent holds a conversation with each contact, with DND screening and as many calls at once as you have channels.
Preparing the CSV
Clean data decides how well a campaign runs. Export from your CRM, billing system or spreadsheet, then tidy it before upload.
- —One row per person, one phone number per row.
- —Phone numbers in a single format, ideally with +91, without spaces or dashes.
- —A name column, and only the context columns the agent will actually use, such as due amount, renewal date, course enquired or last visit.
- —Simple column headers without special characters, so they are easy to reference in the brief.
- —Duplicates removed, and anyone who previously asked not to be called removed.
Setting up the campaign
- 01Create or choose the AI employee, with a brief written for this specific list, such as an EMI reminder or a renewal call.
- 02Create a campaign and upload the CSV.
- 03Set the schedule and the calling window, for example 10 am to 7 pm, avoiding Sundays if your customers prefer that.
- 04Set retries for no-answer and busy outcomes, with a sensible gap, such as two retries several hours apart.
- 05Decide how many calls run at once, which is set by your channels (one call at a time each). Start low for the first hour so you can read early transcripts.
- 06Launch, then check the first 20 to 30 calls before letting it run.

DND and consent
Outpero screens campaign numbers against DND, but screening is not a licence to call anyone. Use lists of existing customers or people who enquired. Purchased databases bring complaints, spam labels on your number and regulatory risk under TRAI's TCCCP rules.
AI campaign or voice broadcast
If everyone on the list only needs to hear the same short message, such as a holiday closure, a voice broadcast is simpler and billed at a lower rate. Choose an AI campaign when you need an answer back or expect questions.
After the campaign
Each call's recording, transcript, summary, sentiment and custom fields appear in the dashboard and go to your webhook. Export the results as CSV, filter by outcome, and hand the hot list to your team the same day.

Follow-up questions
How long will a 1,000-contact campaign take?
+
It depends on call length, pickup rate and channels. On 10 channels averaging about two minutes per call, the agent works through roughly 300 numbers an hour, so a 1,000-contact list gets its first pass in three to four hours, before retries. Add channels for speed, or keep it lower to spread calls across the calling window.
