Outpero

Does AI calling cost more in Hindi or regional languages?

Short answer

Not on Outpero. The per-minute price depends on the voice tier, not the language: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English calls all cost ₹5 or ₹6.8 per connected minute for Standard or Premium voices. A caller switching into English mid-sentence does not change the rate. Pricing elsewhere varies, so confirm whether a vendor's rate differs by language. Prices exclude 18% GST.

Same rate, seven languages

LanguageCode-switched form handledStandard rate
HindiHinglish₹5 per connected minute
TeluguTenglish₹5 per connected minute
TamilTanglish₹5 per connected minute
MarathiMarathi-English₹5 per connected minute
KannadaKanglish₹5 per connected minute
MalayalamManglish₹5 per connected minute
Indian English₹5 per connected minute

The Standard voice is ₹5 and Premium ₹6.8 in every one of these languages. So a Tamil campaign for a clinic chain in Coimbatore and a Hindi campaign for a coaching institute in Lucknow cost the same per minute on the same tier.

Why language can still change your bill

The rate does not change, but call length can. A conversation where the caller asks for an explanation twice, or where the script is long in one language and short in another, runs longer. Keep scripts natural and brief in each language, and check average call length per campaign in the analytics after the first week.

Multilingual teams vs one AI employee

A business serving Telangana and Karnataka from one office often needs separate Telugu and Kannada speakers, each costing roughly ₹15,000–₹25,000 a month. With Outpero, the same per-minute rate covers both languages, and there is no extra salary for adding a second one.

Languages not available

Outpero does not offer Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu or Assamese conversations. For callers in Kolkata, Ahmedabad or Ludhiana, the practical options are Hindi or English, which many business callers there are comfortable with, or a vendor that does offer those languages. Test with real customers before committing a campaign.

Voice broadcast, which plays one fixed message rather than holding a conversation, is billed at a lower rate than AI conversation minutes in any of the live languages.

In short, choose the language your callers are most comfortable in, and choose the tier for the job the call has to do. The two decisions are independent, and only the second one changes the price per minute.

Follow-up questions

Does Hinglish or Tanglish cost more than pure Hindi or Tamil?

+

No. Outpero's agent switches to English the moment the caller does, mid-sentence and in the same voice, and the call is billed at the same tier rate throughout: ₹5 or ₹6.8 per connected minute. Code-switching is part of how the agent works in every live language, not an add-on.

Enterprise and custom: volume plans go as low as ₹3.5/min, quoted on your needs.
