Telugu Voice Bot for Business: Use Cases and Pricing

A Telugu voice bot is software that holds a phone conversation in Telugu, mixed with the English callers actually use, and finishes a task such as booking a slot, qualifying an enquiry or answering a rate query. The good ones are conversational agents, not keypad menus. On Outpero, Telugu calls cost from ₹5 per connected minute with no setup fee, before 18% GST.

Outpero sells an AI voice agent and publishes this guide, so treat the Outpero rows as a vendor's own claims. Other vendors' figures come from their public pages, checked on 14 October 2026 (Edesy on 30 July 2026). All Outpero prices exclude 18% GST.

What a Telugu voice bot is, and what it is not

A voice bot answers or places a phone call and talks instead of typing. A Telugu voice bot does that in Telugu. The phrase covers three very different generations of product, and most disappointment comes from buying one while expecting another.

The oldest is the keypad IVR: 'Telugu kosam 1 nokkandi'. It plays recorded prompts and waits for a digit. The second is the intent bot, which listens for a fixed set of phrases and routes the call. The third, and the one most businesses now mean, is the conversational voice agent: it listens to free speech, follows a mid-sentence switch into English, asks follow-up questions and writes up the call.

GenerationHow it worksWhat the caller experiencesGood for
Keypad IVRRecorded prompts, caller presses digitsA menu to get through before reaching anyoneRouting a known set of queries to a human team
Intent voice botSpeech recognition matched to a fixed list of intentsWorks if the caller says an expected phrase, stalls on anything elseBalance checks, status lookups, simple yes/no confirmations
Conversational voice agentSpeech recognition, a language model and a synthesised voice running togetherA normal conversation, with Tenglish tolerated and interruptions handledEnquiry qualification, booking, reminders, rate and availability calls

Telugu makes the difference sharper than Hindi or English do. Business Telugu is rarely pure. A caller in Hyderabad says 'Saturday ki site visit book cheyyandi' without noticing two languages in one sentence, and an intent bot built around clean Telugu phrases misses it. The glossary entry on Tenglish explains the register in more detail.

Six places a Telugu voice bot earns its keep

The strongest use cases share three traits: a phone call that arrives or must be placed in volume, a short and predictable job inside the call, and a cost of delay that shows up in the business. These six fit that pattern across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

1. New-enquiry callbacks for property and education

A buyer who fills a 99acres or Meta form for a Kokapet apartment often sends the same enquiry to three developers. The first caller usually gets the conversation. A Telugu voice bot dials within 30 seconds, asks budget, configuration and timeline, and books a site visit. Coaching institutes around Ameerpet and Dilsukhnagar use the same pattern in the rush before a new batch, and so do junior colleges in Vijayawada.

2. Appointment booking and reminders for clinics

Hospitals in Warangal and Guntur draw patients from villages and small towns, many of whom are more comfortable speaking Telugu than reading an app. A bot can take the booking call, check a slot in a connected calendar, confirm on WhatsApp and call the day before to cut no-shows. It should never give medical advice, and symptom questions are best transferred to staff.

3. After-hours answering for travel, logistics and hospitality

Lodges and taxi operators in Tirupati, shipping agents in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada, and tour desks near Rajahmundry get calls at night, on festival days and during vessel movements. Inbound answering picks up around the clock, captures dates, group size or cargo, and logs a transcript so the morning team can follow up.

4. Rate and stock calls in agri trade

Chilli in Guntur and Khammam, turmeric in Nizamabad and paddy across the Godavari delta are traded largely by phone, and quotations move through the day. A bot can read a rate sheet you maintain in a spreadsheet during the call, if you enable that option, and hand a bulk buyer to your team. It does not set or negotiate prices on its own.

5. Bulk calling to past enquiries and customers

An uploaded CSV of old enquiries, lapsed patients or past buyers can be worked through with a real conversation each, inside calling windows, with retries and DND screening. Each channel handles roughly 55 dials an hour, so a list of 1,000 on three channels takes about six hours.

6. Payment and renewal reminders

Want to hear this working, not just read about it?

Feed dealers in Bhimavaram extend credit and settle after harvest. Insurance agents chase renewals. A polite reminder in Telugu, a promise-to-pay captured as a field and a WhatsApp message with your payment link is a sensible first job. Anything contentious, such as a dispute or hardship claim, should go to a person.

What a good opening line sounds like

Respect is carried by grammar in Telugu, so the first sentence matters more than in English. This opener for a Warangal diagnostic centre uses 'andi', states who is calling and mixes in the English words callers actually use.

— Translation: Namaskaram, I am calling from Sri Venkateswara Diagnostics. You enquired yesterday about a health checkup package, correct? Is it a good time to talk for two minutes?

Three things to copy. The business name and reason for calling come in the first breath. The question asks for permission to continue rather than launching a pitch. And words such as 'enquiry' and 'package' stay in English, because that is how the caller would say them. A script written in textbook Telugu sounds like a government notice.

Pricing: what a Telugu voice bot costs

Indian voice bot pricing follows three shapes: a per-minute rate, a monthly plan with included minutes, and a quote after a demo. The shape matters more than the headline number, because it decides what you pay in a quiet month. The table lists what each vendor publishes, not what it might charge after negotiation.

VendorPublished pricingTelugu on its own pagesNote
Outpero₹5 Standard or ₹6.8 Premium per connected minute; no setup fee; ₹649/month number incl. 1 channel; 50 free creditsYes, one of seven languagesSame rate in every language; excl. 18% GST
Edesy₹1,499, ₹4,999 or ₹14,999 a month with 300, 1,100 or 3,500 minutes; ₹5, ₹4.50 or ₹4 per minuteYes, a dedicated Telugu pageCheaper at low volume on the ₹1,499 tier (checked 30 July 2026)
Vomyra₹15,000/month Developer (2,500 minutes); flat plans ₹19,999, ₹39,999, ₹79,999Telugu named among its languagesA flat plan only wins at high steady volume
VoiceGenie₹3,000 for 250 minutes up to ₹60,000 for 5,000 minutes, about ₹12 per included minute50+ languages claimed, none namedUnused minutes expire monthly
Ringg AI₹6 per connected minute; number ₹499/month; a monthly minimum commitment applies20+ languages claimed, none namedVisual workflow builder
Zudu AI, LuMay AI, OnDialNot publishedTelugu claimed by eachDemo or sales call first

Read the table by volume. At ₹5 a minute, a ₹19,999 flat plan buys the equivalent of about 4,000 minutes, so a flat plan beats per-minute only for a line that talks more than that every month. Below it, you are paying for minutes you do not use. Outpero's model has no monthly fee, so a month with no calls costs only the number rental.

Scenario (assumed)Connected minutesTierCallingNumberTotal before GSTWith 18% GST
Single clinic, 600 reminder and booking calls600Standard ₹5₹3,000₹649₹3,649₹4,306

Same team, voice is the brand3,000Premium ₹6.8₹20,400₹649₹21,049₹24,838

The minute counts are assumptions for illustration, not a prediction. Only connected talk time is billed, and unanswered calls are not. For comparison, one human telecaller in India costs roughly ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month, works one shift and handles one call at a time. Cost is rarely the whole argument for a bot: coverage at 11 pm and the first-30-seconds callback are.

How to test a Telugu voice bot in an hour

Every vendor demo is rehearsed. A short, unscripted test shows more. The Telugu AI voice agent buyer's guide on this site covers the deeper checks on honorifics and latency; this is the quick version for a voice bot shortlist.

  1. 01Call it from a phone, not the vendor's web demo, and from somewhere noisy. Most real callers are on a street or in a shop.
  2. 02Say a sentence that starts in Telugu and ends in English, then the reverse. Note whether it follows or resets to one language.
  3. 03Interrupt it halfway through a sentence. It should stop and listen at once.
  4. 04Ask something it cannot know. A good bot says so and takes a message. A bad one invents an answer.
  5. 05Ask for a person. Check whether the call can be transferred to your team, and what the caller hears while it does.
  6. 06Open the call record afterwards. You want a recording, a transcript, a summary and the fields you asked for, not just a minute count.

Where Outpero fits, and where it does not

Outpero is a self-serve conversational voice agent from a specialist in regional-language voice AI. It speaks Telugu and switches to English the moment the caller does, in the same voice, and it runs inbound, instant lead calling, bulk campaigns and voice broadcast. It speaks standard conversational Telugu and does not claim separate training for each district's dialect.

It fits a clinic, institute, dealer or developer who wants to start today, pay for talk time and see the transcripts. It is the wrong tool for a business that needs a bespoke on-premise model trained on its own recordings, a full human contact-centre suite, or integrations with a long list of enterprise systems. Edesy's lower-volume plans, Vomyra's flat plans and an enterprise vendor can each be the better answer there. Each Outpero channel handles one call at a time, so very large simultaneous volumes need more channels at ₹649 a month each.

A one-week start

  • —Day 1: sign up for the 50 free credits, which is about ten Standard minutes, and call your own phone.
  • —Day 2: write the job in plain Telugu and English: who is calling, what to ask, what to capture, when to transfer.
  • —Day 3: run ten test calls to colleagues and family, including an interruption and an off-script question.
  • —Day 4: connect your lead source or upload a short list, and set calling windows.
  • —Day 5 onward: read every transcript for the first 50 real calls, fix the script, then scale.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Telugu voice bot?

+

A Telugu voice bot is software that answers or places phone calls and speaks in Telugu. Modern versions are conversational: they understand free speech, follow a switch into English mid-sentence, and complete a task such as booking a slot or qualifying an enquiry. Older versions are keypad IVR menus that only play recordings and wait for a digit.

How much does a Telugu voice bot cost in India?

+

It depends on the pricing shape. Outpero charges ₹5 (Standard) or ₹6.8 (Premium) per connected minute, no setup fee, a ₹649 monthly number including one channel, and all prices exclude 18% GST. Other vendors publish monthly plans from ₹1,499 or ₹3,000, or give no price until a demo. Compare by your monthly minutes, not the headline.

Can a Telugu voice bot understand Tenglish?

+

A good one must, because most business Telugu includes English words such as booking, EMI and appointment. Outpero's agent switches to English as soon as the caller does, mid-sentence and in the same voice. Test this yourself by starting a sentence in Telugu and finishing it in English before you sign anything.

Is a Telugu voice bot different from an IVR?

+

Yes. An IVR plays recorded prompts and waits for the caller to press digits. A conversational Telugu voice bot listens to what the caller says, replies in natural speech, can be interrupted and records a transcript and summary. An IVR is cheaper for pure routing, but callers often abandon long menus.

Which businesses in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana use Telugu voice bots?

+

The best fits are property developers in Hyderabad, coaching institutes and junior colleges, clinics and diagnostic labs, hotels and travel desks in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam, and agri-input or trading firms around Guntur, Khammam and Nizamabad. Each has high call volume, a short predictable job on the call and a clear cost when a call goes unanswered.

Can the bot transfer a call to my team?

+

Yes, Outpero can transfer a call to your team when a person should take it, as an opt-in setting for each employee. It is not promised for every call. Use it for disputes, high-value buyers and anything medical or legal, and read the call record afterwards to see where callers asked for a human.

Are Telugu voice bot calls allowed under Indian telecom rules?

+

Businesses may use automated calling, but they must follow TRAI rules on registered headers, DND screening for promotional calls and calling hours. Outpero uses a DLT-registered calling line and screens bulk campaigns against DND. Reminders and service calls differ from promotions, so check the rules for your category.
