How often should I update my AI agent's script?
Review the script weekly for the first month and change it whenever transcripts show a repeated problem. After that, a monthly review is usually enough, plus an immediate update whenever prices, offers, stock, timings or policies change. Change one thing at a time so you can see its effect, and keep a dated note of every change so you can roll back if results drop.
Update immediately when facts change
- —A price, fee or EMI option changes.
- —An offer starts or ends — a Diwali discount, an early-bird admission fee.
- —A project, batch or product sells out.
- —Clinic timings, doctor availability or branch addresses change.
- —A regulator changes a rule your callers ask about, such as RBI guidance on loans or IRDAI rules on policies.
An agent that quotes last month's offer creates exactly the kind of mistake that makes customers distrust the next call. Facts that change often belong in a sheet or system the agent reads live, so the script itself does not need editing.
Review on a rhythm
| Phase | How often | What to look at |
|---|---|---|
| First two weeks | Every few days | Hang-ups, confusion, mispronunciations |
| Rest of first month | Weekly | Objections, unanswered questions, conversion |
| Steady state | Monthly | Trends by lead source and season |
| Seasonal peaks | Before each peak | Offers, timings, extra FAQs |
Seasons that need a refresh
Indian demand has a calendar. Admission season for coaching and colleges, January to March tax-saving for insurance and investments, the festive quarter for cars, two-wheelers and jewellery, and wedding season for hotels and event services all change what callers ask and what offers apply. Refresh the script a week before each one.
Do not over-edit
Changing five things after one bad day makes it impossible to know what helped. Keep a simple change log — date, what changed, why — and compare the week before with the week after.
You edit the agent yourself at app.outpero.com, with no setup fee or support ticket involved. Changing facts can come from a spreadsheet the agent reads live during calls, so a price update in the sheet reaches the next call.
