Urdu AI voice agents
Outpero does not offer an Urdu voice yet. Everyday spoken Hindi and Urdu are largely mutually intelligible, so the Hindi agent can work for many conversational calls to Urdu speakers, but it uses Hindi vocabulary and register, not Urdu, and is not the right fit where formal Urdu is expected. Outpero's live languages are Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and English.

Why Urdu is hard for voice AI
Urdu is written right to left in the Nastaliq style of Perso-Arabic script, so any text the agent reads or writes — names, addresses — needs separate handling from Hindi. Spoken Urdu shares grammar with Hindi but draws on Persian and Arabic vocabulary, with sounds like 'q', 'kh', 'gh' and 'z' that Hindi-trained systems often merge. Courtesy forms — 'farmaiye', 'tashreef' — carry weight, and Hyderabadi Dakhni and Lucknowi Urdu sound very different.
What to use today
Outpero has no Urdu voice and does not claim one. What works now: the Hindi agent speaks everyday spoken Hindi, which in conversation overlaps heavily with spoken Urdu, and switches to English when the caller does — test it with Urdu-speaking leads in Hyderabad, Lucknow or Bhopal before relying on it. For formal communication or anything in Urdu script, it is not a substitute.
Outpero’s live languages are Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and English.
What a Urdu call sounds like
السلام علیکم، میں Royal Caterers سے Sana بات کر رہی ہوں — آپ نے wedding catering کے لیے enquiry کی تھی، کیا دو منٹ بات ہو سکتی ہے؟
“Assalamu alaikum, this is Sana from Royal Caterers — you had made an enquiry about wedding catering. Could we talk for two minutes?”
Questions people ask
Can the Hindi agent handle Urdu-speaking callers?
+
In many cases. Everyday spoken Hindi and Urdu share grammar and most common vocabulary, so a polite Hindi call is generally understood. But the agent speaks Hindi, not Urdu: it will not use Persian-derived courtesy vocabulary the way an Urdu speaker would, and it is not a fit for formal Urdu. Test a sample of your list before relying on it.
Does Outpero have an Urdu voice?
+
No. Outpero's live languages are Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English, and there is no announced date for Urdu. This page exists to say so plainly, and to explain that for many conversational calls in Hyderabad, Lucknow or Bhopal, the Hindi agent may be close enough — something worth testing with your own leads first.
What makes Urdu hard for voice AI?
+
Urdu uses right-to-left Nastaliq script, so names and addresses need separate text handling. Its Persian and Arabic vocabulary brings sounds like 'q', 'kh' and 'z' that Hindi-trained systems often blur. And it spans very different styles, from Hyderabadi Dakhni to Lucknow's formal register, with courtesy forms that mark respect and that a Hindi voice will not reproduce.
Which businesses with Urdu-speaking customers could use Outpero today?
+
Businesses whose Urdu-speaking leads converse comfortably in everyday Hindustani: clinics and hospitals in Hyderabad's Old City and Tolichowki, real estate in Lucknow, coaching and college admissions, wedding caterers and event planners, and D2C brands confirming COD orders. The agent calls each lead within 30 seconds and logs a recording and transcript, so you can check how calls landed.
