Outpero

Is there a multilingual voice bot for Indian businesses?

Short answer

Yes. Outpero offers AI voice agents in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English, at the same per-minute price in each. Each agent speaks one live language and switches to English mid-sentence with the caller. A business serving several regions runs one agent per language rather than one bot that detects any language.

Three things 'multilingual' can mean

  1. 01A platform that offers agents in many languages, each built separately.
  2. 02An agent that mixes its own language with English inside one conversation, as Hinglish or Tanglish callers do.
  3. 03A single bot that detects any language the caller starts in and replies in it.

Vendors use the same word for all three, so ask which one is meant. Outpero does the first two. It does not claim the third across languages, so a caller who starts in Tamil on a Hindi agent will not get a smooth conversation.

Which languages a business usually needs

Where your callers areLanguages to plan for
Hyderabad and VijayawadaTelugu, Hindi, English
Chennai and CoimbatoreTamil, English
Bengaluru and MysuruKannada, English, with Tamil and Telugu among migrants
Pune and MumbaiMarathi, Hindi, English
Kochi and KozhikodeMalayalam, English
Delhi NCR and the Hindi beltHindi, English

Languages that are not covered

Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu, Assamese and Konkani are not supported by Outpero. A business whose customers mainly speak those needs another vendor, or can use Hindi or English only for contacts who already use them with the business. Anyone claiming every Indian language should be asked for recordings in the two or three you need.

How a multi-language business runs it

  • —Create one agent per language, with scripts written natively rather than translated word for word.
  • —Split campaign lists by language and run one campaign per language.
  • —Compare connected rates and call length by language in the dashboard.
  • —Use channels, at ₹649 a month each, if languages need to run at the same time.

Questions to put to any vendor

  • —Can I hear a recording in each language I need, not just a demo in one?
  • —Does the agent mix English into the regional language the way my callers do?
  • —What happens when a caller speaks a language the agent does not?
  • —Is the price the same in every language, and what do numbers and extra channels cost?

Outpero publishes this page, so test its calls and those of any other vendor in your languages before choosing.

Follow-up questions

Does a multilingual voice bot cost more than a single-language one?

+

Not at Outpero. The per-minute price is the same in every live language, ₹5 on Standard and ₹6.8 on Premium, excluding 18% GST. Extra cost comes only from additional channels or phone numbers if you need several languages running at once.

Can one agent answer inbound calls in two regional languages?

+

Each agent speaks one live language plus English. If your inbound callers split between, for example, Telugu and Hindi, the common approach is to choose the dominant language for the number, or to use separate numbers per language and test how each performs.
