What is Hinglish?
Hinglish is the mix of Hindi and English used in everyday speech across north and central India, where English words and phrases are woven into Hindi sentences, often within a single breath.
Also called: Hindi-English, Hindi English mix
It is the normal register of business calls in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Lucknow, Jaipur, Indore and far beyond, not a lapse in either language. Numbers, product names and business vocabulary — EMI, booking, delivery, discount — are usually said in English inside Hindi grammar: 'Aapka order kal deliver ho jayega, bas confirm kar dijiye.' A voice system that expects pure Hindi or pure English stumbles on exactly the words that matter most.
Formal, textbook Hindi on a sales call sounds stiff and pushes callers away, and mishearing the English words breaks the conversation entirely. Outpero's Hindi agent switches to English the moment the caller does — mid-sentence, in the same voice — so a Hinglish conversation flows the way it would with a good local telecaller.
