Top Tamil AI Voice Agent Companies in India (2026)

Tamil AI voice agent companies in India fall into four groups: vendors that name Tamil on their own pages, vendors that claim a long language list without naming Tamil, vendors whose pages mention only Hindi or no Indian language, and global developer platforms where Tamil depends on the speech engines you connect. Outpero belongs to the first group and publishes its price, but it also publishes this page, so the same Tanglish and Chennai-Kongu test below should be run on every shortlisted vendor, Outpero included.

Disclosure

Outpero sells a Tamil AI voice agent and publishes this page, so it has an interest in the answer. Every vendor detail below comes from that vendor's own public pages, recorded in Outpero's competitor files between July and October 2026. Where a vendor's pages do not evidence Tamil, the table says 'check Tamil support' and makes no claim either way.

How to read any vendor's Tamil claim

Most voice AI websites list languages the way a hotel lists amenities: a number, a flag, a promise. A buyer in Coimbatore or Chennai needs something narrower, which is evidence that Tamil is named, that it is spoken by the agent and not only transcribed, and that someone has tested it on real Tamil callers. The evidence available on a vendor's website comes in four strengths.

  1. 01Named and spoken. The vendor's page lists Tamil by name as a language its voice agent speaks. This is the minimum worth shortlisting for, and it is still only a claim until it is tested on a call.
  2. 02Named, but for a different job. Tamil appears for transcription or in a developer model list, not for a finished calling agent. The Tamil may be good, but the buyer assembles the agent.
  3. 03Counted, not named. The page says 12, 20, 70 or 100 languages and names none. Treat this as 'check Tamil support' until the vendor confirms Tamil for voice calls in writing.
  4. 04Silent or Hindi-only. The pages checked mention Hindi, Hinglish or no Indian language at all. Do not assume Tamil.

A fifth question sits outside the ladder: which Tamil? Spoken Tamil on a Tiruppur factory floor, a Madurai shop counter and a Chennai call-centre line differ in vocabulary, speed and how much English is mixed in. No vendor in this table publishes per-region Tamil results, and Outpero does not claim per-dialect training either.

Tamil AI voice agent companies compared

The table keeps to what each vendor's own pages say. Prices are as published at the time of the check and several vendors publish none. A blank price is a fact about the website, not a guess about the product.

Airtel IQ, Tata Tele Smartflo and GoHighLevel are left out of the table because their pages do not evidence Tamil for a speaking agent: Airtel IQ states no language on its own pages, Smartflo mentions 10+ languages for IVR routing without a list, and GoHighLevel's article names Hindi alone. They remain options for telephony, but Tamil is a question for their sales teams.

Which kind of buyer each group suits

A Tamil business that wants to start this week

A school office in Madurai, a jeweller in T Nagar or a dealership in Hosur wants to hear a Tamil call before committing. Self-serve products with a published rate suit this: the first call can be made the same day. Outpero is built this way, with 50 free credits and no card, and ElevenLabs and Vomyra also publish entry prices, although both sit closer to a build-it-yourself or plan-based model.

A regulated lender or large enterprise

A bank, an NBFC or a large insurer in Chennai usually needs security certifications, private deployment and a named delivery team. Gnani.ai states certifications and on-premise and air-gapped deployment options on its site, and SquadStack assigns a forward-deployed engineer to each account. Outpero has none of those enterprise controls and says so; a buyer who needs them should start with those two.

Want to hear this working, not just read about it?

A team that already runs a contact centre

Exotel, Ozonetel, MyOperator and Tata Tele Smartflo sell dialers, routing and agent desktops for human teams, and they add AI on top. If the goal is to give 80 telecallers better tooling, this group fits. If the goal is a Tamil agent that makes the calls without a seat licence for each human, ask each one to show a live Tamil call and not a language slide.

An engineering team that wants control

Twilio, ElevenLabs and similar developer platforms give full control of prompts, models and flows. They also hand over the work of Indian telephony, DLT registration, DND handling and Tamil script tuning. That trade is worth making for a product company with engineers, and rarely for a clinic chain or a textile exporter.

A blind Tamil test that compares vendors fairly

Demos are recorded on the vendor's best day. A fair comparison uses identical calls across vendors, scored without knowing whose voice is on the line. The method below needs three Tamil speakers and an afternoon.

  1. 01Recruit three speakers with different Tamil: one from Chennai or Chengalpattu, one from Coimbatore, Tiruppur or Erode, and one from Madurai or Tirunelveli. Each places the same set of calls to every vendor from a mobile phone, outdoors, not from a quiet room.
  2. 02Use eight fixed lines. Include a Tanglish price question such as 'EMI evlo varum, down payment fixed-aa irukka', a number given in spoken Tamil ('rendu laksham ezhubadhaayiram'), a place name with the ழ sound, a polite refusal ('ippo vendaam, naalaiku kooptunga'), an interruption mid-sentence, and one off-script question the agent has no answer for.
  3. 03Record every call and ask each vendor for the transcript. Score the transcript before the audio: what did the agent hear, and what did it write down. A fluent voice that records the wrong amount has failed the call.
  4. 04Time the gap between the speaker stopping and the agent starting, with a stopwatch, on every call. Outpero's end-to-end latency averages 0.8 to 1.3 seconds, and any figure a vendor quotes can be checked the same way.
  5. 05Rank by errors in numbers, names and callback times first, by register second (is the agent respectful to an older caller), and by voice quality last.

Repeat the test on a batch of 20 to 30 real leads before a full launch. A speaker from Tirunelveli on a Monday afternoon reveals more than any slide about supported languages.

Where Outpero stands on Tamil, with its limits

  • —Tamil is one of seven languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and English. Each agent opens in one language, speaks English, and can follow at most one extra Indian language, so a Tamil agent can add Telugu or Hindi but not three Indian languages at once.
  • —The agent uses a neutral spoken register and moves into English mid-sentence. No dedicated model exists for Kongu, Madurai or Tirunelveli speech, so a pilot on your own callers is the real test.
  • —Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu and other languages are not supported. A list that mixes Tamil with Bengali needs a different tool for the Bengali part.
  • —One channel is one call at a time, and each extra channel is ₹649 a month. A vendor with a large claimed concurrency suits a sudden burst of thousands of simultaneous calls better.
  • —Voicemail detection is tuned for English greetings, so Tamil voicemail greetings may sometimes be treated as a person speaking.
  • —WhatsApp messages are approved-template text sent through your own provider account, and the agent is not a WhatsApp chatbot.
  • —No on-premise deployment and no long list of enterprise certifications. Gnani.ai and Synthflow state those on their sites.

Questions to send every vendor in writing

  • —Is Tamil spoken by the voice agent on live phone calls, or only transcribed? Please share a recorded Tamil call with consent.
  • —Is the per-minute price the same in Tamil as in English, and what is billed besides talk time: number rental, concurrency, setup, minimum commitment?
  • —What happens when a Tamil caller speaks Tanglish with English nouns and Tamil verb endings? Please show a transcript.
  • —Which Tamil regions has the system been tested on, and what is the evidence?
  • —Who handles DLT registration and DND screening for outbound Tamil calls, and who is liable when a list is wrong? This is general information, not legal advice, so confirm obligations with a qualified adviser.
  • —Can the same account run Tamil outbound, Tamil inbound and a fixed-message voice broadcast, and are they billed alike?

The shortlist, by buyer

For a Tamil-speaking business with no engineers and a budget measured in thousands of rupees a month, shortlist Outpero and one managed vendor with Tamil named on its pages, such as SquadStack, and run the blind test above on both. For a bank or NBFC with security reviews, begin with Gnani.ai. For a company with a developer team, compare ElevenLabs and Twilio on total cost after telephony and Indian compliance are added. For anyone whose pages say '12+ languages' and nothing more, ask for a recorded Tamil call before any further meeting.

The most useful number on this page is not a price. It is the count of vendors that can show a Tamil call, with a transcript, from a number a customer would actually pick up.

Frequently asked questions

Which companies offer a Tamil AI voice agent in India?

+

Vendors whose own pages name Tamil include Outpero, Gnani.ai, SquadStack and Vomyra, and ElevenLabs lists Tamil on its models page for developers. Several others claim many languages without naming Tamil, so ask them to confirm Tamil in writing and to share a recorded Tamil call.

Is there a Tamil AI voice agent that handles Tanglish?

+

Outpero's Tamil agent follows the caller into English mid-sentence, in the same voice, which is how Tanglish works on real calls. Other vendors may do this too, but few publish evidence. Test any vendor with a sentence like 'EMI evlo varum, down payment fixed-aa irukka' and read the transcript.

How should a business compare Tamil AI voice agent companies?

+

Place the same eight Tamil calls to each vendor from three speakers with different accents, time the response gap, and score the transcripts for numbers, names and callback times before judging the voice. A pilot on 20 to 30 real leads then confirms what the demo suggested.

Which Tamil voice AI vendors publish their prices?

+

Outpero publishes ₹5 and ₹6.8 per connected minute, Ringg AI publishes ₹6 per connected minute with a monthly minimum, Vomyra publishes plans from ₹15,000 a month, and ElevenLabs and Twilio publish dollar rates. Gnani.ai, Exotel, Ozonetel and several others publish no voice rate.

Can a Tamil AI voice agent understand Kongu or Madurai Tamil?

+

No vendor in this comparison publishes per-region Tamil results, and Outpero does not claim training on Kongu, Madurai or Tirunelveli speech. The agent uses a neutral spoken register. Test it with callers from Coimbatore, Madurai and Tirunelveli before a full campaign.

Does Outpero cost less than other Tamil AI voice agent companies?

+

It depends on volume and model. At ₹5 a minute with no setup fee it is simple for small and medium volumes, while a flat monthly plan or SquadStack's indicative ₹2 to ₹5 plus setup can be cheaper for very large, steady volumes. Compare total monthly cost including number rental and GST.
