What is TRAI regulations?
TRAI regulations are the rules issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India governing telecom services, including how businesses may contact consumers commercially.
The relevant framework for outbound calling is the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, which establish consumer preference registration, sender registration, and calling-hour restrictions. Enforcement sits with the telecom operators, who block non-compliant traffic.
Compliance is not optional or lightly enforced — non-compliant traffic simply does not get delivered.
